Nikki Wentling Indy Mies, 43, a totally blind resident of North Lawrence, is a mother of twins, a wife, and an athlete who runs and skis. She earned a KU human development degree in 1997, lives with her family near Comfort Court, and cites coffee and Free State beer as small comforts in daily life. Her guidepost for independence comes from a long history of adapting to life without sight, likening her experience to a film about sudden vision.

City manager search may extend past November

Ole Miss Eyes KU Provost for Next Chancellor
