The Kansas University Chancellors Club honored ten freshmen and three professors at its Friday night event in the Lawrence Helidome. Don Green received the Career Teaching Award 2001 with a $5,000 prize for his work since 1964, including programs aiding minority engineers and women in engineering. Craig Martin earned the Teaching Professorship worth $5,000 annually, while Michael J. Soares won the Research Award with a $5,000 prize for reproductive biology work. Ten freshmen named Chancellors Club Scholars include Tracy Cunningham, Alan Dibos, Marci Death, Tristan Moody, Shannon Sanderson, Ryan Faulconer, Elizabeth Franklin, Brian Morrow, Justin Moses, and Caroline Wright.
