KU Med aims to boost biomedical research
Kansas University Medical Center officials announced two NIH grants totaling 16.5 million dollars to build a statewide network of researchers. A 10.5 million COBRE grant targets mentoring and funding for junior and experienced faculty, while a 6 million grant funds the Kansas Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network. Participants include KU Med Center, KU Lawrence, Kansas State, Haskell Indian Nations University, and Washburn University. The effort aims to boost infectious disease protein research and attract more NIH funding to Kansas.
