Multiple cultural offerings in Lawrence include a gallery talk Death and the Maiden by Pierre Eugene Emile Hebert presented by Nancy Hernandez at Spencer Museum of Art at 10 a.m. Free screenings of Art:21 at 5:30 p.m. in the museum auditorium. Family friendly screenings and lectures follow at various venues including Lawrence Arts Center, KU campus, and libraries.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rachel Claire Leek 20 of Lawrence will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Olathe. She died Oct 16 2009 from a hit and run in Lawrence. Born May 30 1989 she was a St Thomas Aquinas graduate and attended Johnson County Community College and Kansas University. She is survived by her parents five brothers five sisters aunts uncles and one nephew. Memorials may go to the Catholic Charities Food Pantry in Olathe.
Con Davis Walsh, 24, died Saturday Oct 17 2009 in Lawrence. Services are pending and will be announced by Penwell Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka.

Funeral service for Lester Newton Proctor 78 is Tuesday at Warren McElwain Mortuary with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. He died Oct 16 2009 at home in rural Eudora after a life as a projectionist electrician and business owner and service in the Air Force. Survivors include two sons, a brother, two sisters, eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Hospice Care.
