Kansas groups push religion education in public schools
A Kansas based effort led by the Kansas Council on Religion and Public Education seeks to integrate religious study into public school curricula. The group formed in June to collect data on courses and resources while opponents urge careful handling to avoid endorsing theology. Lawrence officials report Bible as Literature courses taught with historical or literary aims, not theology, and emphasize student beliefs remain separate from instruction.
