Printing veteran Herbert Bullock dies at 73 in Lawrence
Herbert Bullock a Lawrence printing businessman for 28 years died last night at his son Edwin A Bullock’s home from acute indigestion. Born October 18 1856 he was 73. He worked as a compositor for Kansas City Star and St Louis Globe Democrat before moving to Lawrence in 1901 to open a printing shop. Funeral Monday at Plymouth Congregational Church. He is survived by Edwin A Bullock and two grandchildren. Also reported five KU Rhodes scholarship contestants named Garvey B Bowers Alfred Kurane Felix A Manley A E Riley Kenneth Seltsans will compete December 7 before the state board for the Rhodes winner who will study at Oxford next fall.
