Lawrence names Gregory Burns Jr as new police chief
Lawrence introduces Gregory Burns Jr as the new police chief. A drop in meet and greet is set for Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at McDonald’s 901 OW 23rd St, inviting the public to ask questions and meet the chief without speeches. Burns, in law enforcement since 1993, was previously Louisville assistant police chief directing major crimes, narcotics, community services and special operations. He replaces Tarik Khatib, who retired in June, with Capt. Anthony Brixius as interim chief until Burns' arrival.
