Jester murder case witness spots wagon trio near Huzen Lane

Kansas City dispatch reports Y W C Kelley identified a Jan 25 1871 scene with two moving wagons and fresh blood near Huzen Lane. He testified to seeing the Jester suspect with wagons and a blood trail, corroborating prior testimony from William Maxey. State Pays Ex Confederate Pension Applications

The Texas comptroller completed a five week review of 4684 pension applications for ex Confederate soldiers and widows. Of these, 4087 were approved totaling $87, and $25,000 was slated for the current quarter. The annual pension fund is $100,000 for 1929 1900. Ninety one applications were rejected.
