Kansas farmer Scott Kelsey testified before a congressional subcommittee investigating the cost of living. He said current potato prices are too low to sustain production, noting acreage in Kaw Valley dropped from 16,200 in 1928 to 4,400 this year and that he farms 650 acres with 125 in potatoes and 366 in corn.
