Mrs Cary Stratt of near Eudora was thrown from a motorcycle when it lost control at a bridge near George Bowman’s place. She was brought to Simmons Hospital unconscious with critical injuries. Emley Dr Succumbs After Illness in Kansas City

Dr Samuel Charles Emley a Kansas University trained physician who had recenty practiced in Lawrence and Kansas City died last night at 11 30 after a lingering illness. He was born in Great Bend and earned his A B at the University of Kansas in 1899 and an M D from Rush in 1902. Emley spent years teaching pathology and tuberculosis exhibits before moving to Kansas City to practice medicine. He leaves a wife and five children and many friends in Lawrence and the medical community.

Mrs Roosevelt Opposed Colonel Roosevelt in 1912 Race

Washington reports that Mrs Roosevelt strongly opposed Colonel Roosevelt’s bid for the presidency fearing an assassination threat would haunt a White House tenure. intimates say she urged him to withdraw during the 1912 campaign while secret service watchers kept him under scrutiny. Schrank Native of Bavaria Reported From Manith

Oct 26 report from Manith Bavaria says John Schrank of Erx in Northern Bavaria, source village near here, is the alleged assailant of Colonel Roosevelt. He left Erx years ago for America and was noted as a restless character unable to find steady work. Several immunity members still reside nearby.
