About seventy five members from the First and Fifth districts of the Kansas State Dental association opened a two day meeting at Hotel Eldridge. Leaders included Dr. Loran M. Huey and Dr. Willis A. Coston, with sessions on public health dentistry and lay education. A banquet at 6 30 pm and a film showing at Dickinson theater followed talks on dental public health and school programs.

Members of the Kansas State college livestock judging team preparing for the American Royal stock show in Kansas City include Elmer Dandy Washington Rolan Elling Manhattan Charles Pence Elmont Waldo Poovey Oxford Kenneth Fisher Newton and Elmore Stout Cottonwood Falls. The judging squad will compete next week in Royal Manhattan Kan on October 15.
Pi John McBee, 86, veteran of Indian wars and longtime Topeka state house guide, is critically ill with bronchial pneumonia but holding his own. He lies at his niece Mrs Frank H Heery’s Topeka home after a week in bed. McBee served in 19th Kansas cavalry under Generals Custer and Sheridan and later drove a horse and cab for 41 years before cars ended the business in 1915 when he became state house guide.
Pi Ray V. Gross and Fred Coulson of Abilene announced completion of negotiations with William C A Henry trustee in reorganization for the United Telephone and Electric Company to purchase the latter’s interest in the Abilene hotel company.
