Buses Crash in Mystic River Bridge Convoy Crash
Three buses carrying delegates to an officials convention crashed on the Mystic River bridge near Boston. Twelve people were injured, most treated at Massachusetts General Hospital. The impact occurred as two police escorted convoys halted on the 130 foot high upper level. one bus struck another and pushed it into a third.

A brush fire fanned by strong winds swept Arroyo Seco Canyon burning about 1 200 acres and threatening La Canada.
