FACES A LIFE SENTENCE Merle Hudson Found Guilty in Slaying
Merle Hudson of Hutchinson was found guilty of torture robbery and the slaying of Stafford county farmer August Reiter on December 24, 1934. The verdict came after a two day trial in Stafford county district court with testimony from Wilbur Stover and Allen Babe Pyle. Hudson allegedly shot Reiter and tortured his brother Otto along with neighbor John Schriner to reveal the hiding place of 24000 in bonds.
