Engineering dean Carl Locke to step down at KU
Kansas University Engineering Dean Carl Locke will retire as dean at the end of the academic year and remain a faculty member in chemical and petroleum engineering. At 65 with 16 years as dean, he says it is time for new leadership as the school nears a 50 000 square foot expansion and a $16 million fundraising goal. EU officials plan a national search to select a successor with a fall 2002 appointment target.
