NCAA ends ban on former Buffalo coach Tim Cohane
The NCAA Infractions Appeals Committee agreed Cohane’s penalty was excessive but upheld the findings from his case. Cohane resigned in December 1999 after seven seasons with the Bulls. The sanction would have ended December 2, 2002, but was shortened by the appeals body. The March ruling also placed Buffalo on two years probation for improper recruiting, out of season practices, and free long distance calls by players.
