LMH Plans Strategic Planning Meetings This Year
Lawrence Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees will hold a series of strategic planning sessions over the next four months. The first is 5:30 PM Monday in conference room A at 325 Maine, open to the public, with no decisions expected. A regular 9 AM Wednesday meeting will address the hospital’s mental health unit and possible options to keep it open amid losses and changes in insurance reimbursement policies.

Residents push for road plan amid quarry traffic concerns
Kanwaka Township faces heavy truck traffic on a two mile East 700 Road segment near Kanwaka Corner with 500 to 600 vehicles daily at the north end and 350 to 400 near North 1400 Road. About 20 percent is trucks from Hunt Midwest Mining Inc. The township may form a benefit district to fund repairs as dust, wear, and budget limits strain maintenance.
