TV tower collapse kills 3 workers in Cedar Hill Texas
A 1,500 foot transmission tower collapsed on Saturday killing three maintenance workers who were to install a new antenna. A gust of wind reportedly caused the hoist device to fall, snapping a guy wire and triggering a transformer explosion. Fire crews freed two victims from wreckage as winds on the ground reached 13 to 14 mph. The antenna shared by several UHF and FM stations went off air temporarily.
