New City Garage Opens After Move of Equipment
City crews from the streets department transfer gear from the old police and fire station garage to the new 350000 city garage at Fifth and Minainsippi Street. City Clerk officials clarified who may register and how to register for Lawrence residents ahead of the November 2 general election. Eligible voters are US citizens 18 or older, Kansas residents six months, and in the same precinct 20 days. first time city voters in annexed areas may also register. Registration is at the city clerk's office, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with evening hours 10 p.m. starting tonight until October 22.
