Kansans' election coffers attracted $726,000 from out-of-state individuals for the four U.S. House seats and two Senate seats won in Kansas. The Center for Responsive Politics and CRS report 17 percent of 1996 Senate receipts and 7 percent of House receipts came from outside the state, with several named donors from Ohio Missouri Connecticut Texas Virginia among them.
