County to propose fire station cost sharing with city
Douglas County Administrator Craig Weinaug unveils a two part proposal to split renovation costs for Fire Station No.1 at 746 Kentucky Street and the Douglas County Senior Services area. The plan allocates 978000 to the county and 2.86 million to the city, plus bond costs. a second split covers Senior Services upgrades with 806000 by the county and 1.713 million by the city, with bond/interest—plus a potential relocation and rent free space for the county. A survey of 2 043 mailed responses shows 76 percent of Eudora residents visited parks in the last year and 46 percent joined a Parks and Recreation program.
