A 17 year old FFA student Chauncey Gaylord Stearns of Cazenovia New York was killed when an automobile struck walking teens along U S 40 in Independence Missouri. Four other youths were injured in the crash all Madison County New York natives visiting for the Future Farmers of America convention. Police detained driver Lloyd M Jarmin 35 of Independence for investigation.
