Police logged an alleged violation of the city smoking ban at Last Call on North H Street at 2:35 a.m. Burglaries included a stolen 2001 Subaru Forester worth 11 000 with camping gear from East 15th Street, two English pointer dogs valued at 4 000 stolen from a kennel on North 200 Road, and a 1997 Honda worth 3 000 stolen from Maple Lane. Fire and medical units responded to several incidents including smoke alarms, a cooking fire, and brush fires. KU Hospital opens center for advanced heart care in Kansas City
The University of Kansas Hospital debuted the 77 million, 238000 square foot Center for Advanced Heart Care on 39th Street in Kansas City Kansas. It houses 110 beds four catheterization labs three electrophysiology suites four cardiovascular operating rooms, the Chest Pain Center and an emergency department with Level 1 trauma. Separately, Aman shot himself in the leg along the Kansas River in Leavenworth County and was found after bleeding for nearly three hours. Jeffrey B Maloney, 50, reportedly discharged a self inflicted gun jam during target practice near North 1500 Road. he was airlifted to KU Hospital in Kansas City Kansas.
