Remembering Gil Philips Downtown Lawrence Maven
Friends honor Gil Philips, who died Sept. 24 from stroke complications, with a 7:30 to 9 p.m. service at the Lawrence Public Library Auditorium. Philips, longtime manager of African Adorned, spoke many languages and drew customers with world knowledge. He loved downtown Lawrence and rarely left, never owning a car.
