She was born August 2 1932 survived a World War II Polish concentration camp and cancer twice. She married Hermann Martin in Germany 1957 and moved across several states before settling in Lawrence. She was a Jehovah's Witness and a member of Southern Hills congregation. Survivors include daughter Ruth Dease Smith son Herbert Martin daughter Heidi Lewis and five grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses via Rumsey Yost Funeral Home.
