Haskell Foundation seeks revival after long inactivity
The Haskell Foundation plans a revival to rebuild fundraising for Haskell Indian Nations University. Venida Chenault, new leader since January, says rebuilding grants management and staffing is a priority while diversifying revenue. KanCare faces scrutiny over ID/DD group in Medicaid system
State officials say about 8 500 of KanCare s roughly 426 000 Medicaid recipients belong to the ID DD group. They cannot estimate nonmedical service costs since such services are bundled into a total per person payment under the new contracts. Davis vows a top to bottom review while focusing on nonmedical ID DD services, amid claims KanCare is a disaster by advocates.

Nebraska, Kansas water dispute overuse costs and compact
The Topeka Capital-Journal reports WPAGE 3A last year concluded Nebraska owes Kansas 5.5 million for overusing Republican River water in two years. Special master William Kayatta Jr. rejected Kansas demand for 80 million and an order to shut off 300,000 acres of irrigation pumps. The 1943 compact splits water 11 percent to Colorado, 40 percent to Kansas, 49 percent to Nebraska. Kayatta says Nebraska failed to conserve. The Supreme Court will hear Kansas request to modify compact to include groundwater from the Platte basin. Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt and Solicitor General Stephen R. McAllister will present.
