Chilean refugees seize offices in Buenos Aires hostage stand off
Eleven Chilean refugees and a Brazilian holding five UN officials and other staff threaten to kill hostages as they demand asylum in a democratic country. They seized UNHCR offices in downtown Buenos Aires, say negotiations extend to seven nations including Belgium Sweden and Denmark, and refuse to release captives until a haven is found. County approves drug appointees

Stabbing Case Charges Filed In Lawrence Bar Disturbance
Lawrence police arrested Aaron A. Cucumber 19 of 2304 Barker after a disturbance at Jack's Goal Post bar at 19th and Massachusetts. He allegedly attacked Anthony Nelson 19 also of 2304 Barker with a knife, wounding his neck. Nelson treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Cucumber held at Douglas County Jail on 10000 bond for aggravated battery and assault with a deadly weapon.
