Crash Near Topeka Claims Two Men in Plane Wreck
Two men identified as Lawrence W Hawkins and Arnold H Smith both from St Joseph Missouri were found dead in a light plane wreck six miles north of Topeka Kansas at noon today. Undersheriff Ed Kiene identified the victims and said the single engine craft appeared to have tried landing in a rough pasture on the J B Cromwell farm. Panels indicated the plane came from Rosenbergerans field in St Joseph. Both men died instantly.
