Tim Lefens creates art through disabled artists in NJ program
Artist Tim Lefens, paced by a rehab center visit in New Jersey, founded Artistic Realization Technologies ART in 1995 to teach disabled artists. Using laser trackers and headbands, students paint with brain and body as guides, enabling expression and gallery showings. The program, funded in part by Roy Lichtenstein, now spans 20 nationwide projects and has featured works in Newark, Manhattan, and other venues.
