Cattle Prices Reflect Drought and Feed Shortage

Cattle prices at the C L Henderson and Son sale near Pleasant Grove reflected drought and pending feed shortages. About 70 Holstein cattle sold as son Bob Henderson serves in the armed forces. Heifers and calves averaged $300 each though calves were weaker overall. A bidder bought a cow and calf but the calf could not be resold. Steers brought extremely low prices at 11 cents a pound as poor feed forced producers to adjust expectations.
