MOVE WEAVING PROJECT NEW LOCATION
The WPA weaving project moved to the second floor classroom of the Community Building from the Central building of Junior High after two years seven months there. About 200 women are enrolled weaving rugs and tapestries from on hand materials for town use. The project operates Monday to Friday with hours 9 to 12 and 1 to 4. 200 New Sailors Arrive At the University Today
About 200 naval trainees from the Great Lakes Training center arrived in Lawrence to begin training at the Navy machinists mates school at Kansas University. Classes start Monday and the school will run 24 hours a day due to increased enrollment. Ensign O N Pederson called the group the youngest yet. Students watched the sailors march in with duffle-bags as heavier gear arrived by truck.
