New Fossil Described From Sherman County Kansas Find
Paleontology department at the University of Kansas describes a new three part skeleton from the Pliocene era found in Sherman County Kansas. Lead researcher KH Martin says the specimen is rare with only two or three known similar remains worldwide and dates to about 3.0 million years ago. Field work yielded four inch bones from the skeleton after sifting through five tons of sand. He believes enough material exists to reconstruct about sixty two additional skeletons.
