Samuel F Whitlow a grain and feed merchant confessed in front of officials that Miss May Sapp a 20 year old neighbor from Moran Kansas committed death by own action over unrequited love. She slashed her throat with a razor in her father Col Wm Sapps yard. Whitlow who is married with three children said she urged him to elope but they were never intimate. He attempted to kill himself by drinking wood alcohol but survived.
New York figures Lucien Mesmin and Ogden W Coffin, a schoolboy, are jailed on charges of postal law violations for sending letters to Ontario recipients asking for payment on fictitious Canadian Pacific Railway bonds. Coffin allegedly confessed, claiming the scheme aimed to raise two or three hundred dollars for a gift for his widowed mother. Police note a city dump relocation and local ads for cider vinegar from Phillips Fruit Farm.
Federal suit against the Standard Oil group aired testimony from F T Cuthbert president of Manhattan Oil on October 7 in New York. He described 1901 asset transfers to Solar Refining Ohio Oil and Union Tank Line, claiming all were controlled by Standard Oil. He added Manhattan’s capital stock fell from 2 million to 150 thousand dollars.
Four members of the Leflingwell Migyelsen polar expedition told Chicago authorities of nearly a year ice bound in Beauford sea. Leflingwell remains in northern seas with others. The mission aimed to find land, but Steffensil says extensive cruising and soundings showed no land there.

Officials cite his role in the orange and Arizona cases as a career peak and deny a $20,000 salary claim, stating the post is newly created and adds to the legal department. Norton plans to move to Chicago with his family mid month.
