Larsen is Named Fifth City Commissioner in Lawrence
City commissioners selected Lisa Larsen to fill the vacancy created by former Mayor Jeremy Farmer’s resignation. Larsen, a geologist who sold her environmental consulting firm in 2014, was sworn in to serve the unexpired term ending January 2018. She defeated Scott Morgan, a former school board member who sold a publishing business in 2007.

Study reports rising sex offenses at KU campus
The KU Clery Act report shows 24 forcible sex offenses on campus in 2014, including 14 rapes and 10 fondling cases, with dorms accounting for 10 rape or fondling incidents. Eight offenses occurred at KU affiliated off campus sites, split between four rapes and four fondling cases. KU also enters an agreement with Sexual Trauma & Abuse Care Center.
