Arrangements for Deborah Rosida Flint age 59 of Lawrence are pending and will be announced by Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. She died Saturday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services for William W Hambleton 91 of Lawrence KS held at Plymouth Congregational Church October 19 honoring a career at KU as Emeritus Professor of Geology and Geophysics and director of the Kansas Geological Survey. Survivors include wife Nancy daughter Ann son Jeff two grandsons and sister. Memorials suggested to LMH Endowment or Hambleton Award with donations through Warren McElwain Mortuary.
A memorial gathering for Dr Marcus Smith Patton III of Lawrence Kansas will be held October 12 2012 at Warren McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence Public internment will occur later He died October 1 2012 at his Lawrence area home Born June 3 1935 in Seattle he earned doctorates from the University of Kansas in Education and Philosophy A former head of Operation Research Corporation he trained US Army Special Forces and later taught at KU and Baldwin City High School He owned the Purple Pig Bar in Lawrence in the 1960s and 70s He was a World Cutting Horse Champion in 1996 and remained active in horsemanship He was married to Sandra Stapp Patton in 1979 and survives with two sons Marcus Smith Patton IV and Fredrick J Patton and four grandchildren Memorials may be directed to the KU Athletic Department for Academic Support through the mortuary's care.
