Lawrence recreation calendar lists Muffin Ride from Perkins/Cycle Works at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Show-n-Go ride at 8:30 a.m. in South Park. Bridge Qualifiers Named From Sept. 30 Club Notes

The Douglas County Senior Center hosted a two session North American Open Pairs qualifier using the Mitchell movement directed by Brian Baresch. Advancing to the district competition in Oklahoma City on November 4 were Chucky and Marti Malcolm James Gunn and Harry Shaffer Lois Clark and Marti Paladan Julia Dalton and Gladys Kampbell Jerry Sloan and Patt Radford Eldon and Glenna Herd Cathy and Michael Blumenfeld Bebe Huxtable and Wanda Edmonds Madelyn Jenks and Phyllis Brownlee. Mary Treece and Nita Scales won first in the morning while Mar Fenlon and Lester Dalton took third in the afternoon. The Lawrence Duplicate Bridge Club hosted eight and one half tables with James Gunn and Harry Shaffer leading North South, followed by Dave Piro.
