Dole Institute aims to draw power players to Lawrence
Richard Norton Smith outlines bold plans for the Dole Institute of Politics in Lawrence. He envisions luring Colin Powell, Donald Rumsfeld and Joseph Lieberman, hosting presidential historians and TV figures, while building projects like an oral history on Kansas politics and a leadership prize. An endowment target of 20 million dollars is set as the center strives to move politics toward a more public, less scripted form.
