IRS expands free Direct File to Kansas and 24 states

The IRS expands its Direct File service for free tax filing to more than 30 million people in 24 states for the 2025 season. The permanent program grew from a 2024 pilot in 12 states, with Commissioner Daniel Werfel stating further eligibility expansions are possible and that users claimed over 90 million dollars in refunds.

Lawrence Leads Kansas in Bank Deposit Growth, FDIC Reports
