In Lawrence and surrounding towns, social gatherings, engagements, teas, and club meetings unfold through October. Notables include Dorothy Jean and Alles engagement, a tea at Memorial Union with listed hostesses, a home card party at Jenny Wren farm, and various bridge and luncheon events. Also noted are 1981 officer elections and a Westphalia class reunion with noon dinner and reminiscing.
