Heard in Lawrence notes that South Park Recreation Center opens to senior high students until 11 30 p m on Friday after the LHS Shawnee Mission East game with membership cards required. Junior high access runs 7 30 to 10 p m Saturday with cards and school clothes needed. An open house for West Junior High ninth grade parents is Monday at 7 p m at the school with a general meeting and then class attendance and a shortened schedule. Kansas University homecoming plans include a torchlight parade and bonfire before the November 4 KU versus Kansas State football game at Memorial Stadium with timing not yet set.

KU Senior Released After Motorcycle Accident Near Strong Hall
Reinhard Moxon of 1005 West 24th Street, a Kansas University senior, was released from Watkins Memorial Hospital Tuesday afternoon after a motorcycle crash behind Strong Hall. He had been admitted Monday with facial lacerations and facial bruises from a post collision near the back entrance of the KU administration building.
