City to cut utility payment fees and simplify auto pay
The city updates its outdated utility billing system to lower credit card fees from 3.25 to 1.95 per transaction, raise the single-transaction limit to 2,500, and add automated delinquent notices. The change aims to boost auto pay enrollment via a simpler online portal, reduce disconnections, and cut costs, with city staff absorbing the annual 150000 expense.
