The Shadow Woman review a Swedish noir by Ake Edwardson
A bleak Gothenburg August frames a murder mystery in The Shadow Woman. Chief Inspector Erik Winter pursues a killer while a child’s perspective drives the heart of the case, with heavy violence and slow detective work. The prose contrasts Larsson’s direct style with Edwardson’s evocative dialogue, delivering a haunting, subtly paced thriller.
