Inmates find purpose as hospice volunteers at Hutchinson prison

Inside Hutchinson Correctional Facility nine inmates serve as hospice volunteers, caring for ill fellow inmates in the Central Unit. Led by Laura Webster, RN, the program, now six years old, aims to give dying men dignity through touch, companionship, and support, despite stigma and the hard realities of prison life.

Officials finish review of KSU research reactor

Federal inspectors completed an NRC review of Kansas State University's TRIGA Mark II reactor after a faculty member received a minor radiation exposure during a routine experiment. The operator’s dose was under one CT scan level, the reactor remains shut, and an official report is due next month.
