KU and other campuses grant car perks to administrators
KU athletic chief Lew Perkins drives a 2004 Mercedes Benz S430V4 loaned from Schofield Auto Plaza, plus a 2004 Lincoln Navigator. The cars are part of a broader system where KU, K State, and Wichita State provide vehicles to certain administrators and deal in season tickets and scholarship credits with dealers. NCAA notes this is common and legal, while a KU professor argues for broader scrutiny of perks and credits for players.
