Kansas University scientists analyze how cockroaches smell to locate food or mates using pheromones. Experiments track movements of about 60 roaches via camera, revealing that roaches can detect low pheromone sources beyond antennae. Researchers anticipate industry use and cost effective pheromone products within a few years.
KU reports rising travel as Chancellor Archie Dykes, alumni groups, and students join more trips.
