In Baltimore on October 3 four workers were killed and over eight injured at the Sparrows Point plant of the Lue Maryland Steel Company. The firm said the victims were overwhelmed by a rushing chaotic collapse from a sudden furnace failure.

Firemen Meet State Association Opens With Delegates

The 1vth meeting of the State Fireman's Association opens with a business session in hall across from the fire department. Delegations from Weir City and many towns arrive as listings show a large turnout. The parade is set for tomorrow morning at 1 o'clock with all fire units and a mascot cat in a red white ribbon. Jealous Man Shot in New York Apartment Row

A man named Partridge was shot three times at Mrs Jennie Smith’s apartment by Charley Jaho after alleged jealousy over a woman. Partridge died from the wounds. Blast furnace accident in Colorado City claims two lives

A blast furnace accident at the Colorado Fuel company works in this city on Tuesday killed two men instantly and badly injured two others. One victim is believed crushed by falling debris, but the cause remains unconfirmed. The names and details of the injured were not released.

Judge Sustains Demurrer in Insurance Case in St Louis

In St Louis on October 24, the judge sustained a demurrer to the second count of the plaintiff George Backin receiver of the Fidelity National Bank of Nilas Michigan filed on behalf of Kimmel’s sister Mrs Bouslett. The defense argued Kimmel is not dead but disappeared, planning to provide for his sister and minimize the risk to the insurer before his departure. Militia Guard Jail After Attack and Death In October

Mobile reports say excitement continues over last night attack on the jail and the death of Hoyle early this morning. Three militia companies are ordered to the city by the governor and stationed around Mobile.
