Lawrence considers expanding city commission and direct mayoral vote
A chamber task force proposes increasing commissioners from five to six with four district seats and two at large, plus a separately elected mayor who would break ties. All would serve four year terms with staggered elections. the plan would take effect in November 2025 if voters approve.
