At 12 43 PM Saturday at 6th and Mich streets John T Stewart 20 of 922 Kasold Drive and Nancy J Owens 17 Route 1 collided causing 650 in damage to Stewarts car and 362 to Owens. Later at 1136 PM Saturday in the 400 block of East 14th Street Thomas C Mersmann 18 of Eudora lost control jumped a curb and struck a lawn at 13842 Conn Street causing 50 damage to his car and 40 to the lawn.

KU Coed Gerry Tate Dies In One Car Crash
Miss Gerry Tate 19 Overland Park sophomore at Kansas University died Saturday when her 1965 car left K-10 near Eudora and struck a bridge. Passenger Carl Doudna 19 suffered multiple injuries and was hospitalized in fair condition before transfer. Tate, a Shawnee Mission West graduate, had transferred to KU after winter.

Man Apparently Has Heart Attack in Auto
A 78 year old Lawrence man died at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after apparently suffering a heart attack while driving on Vermont Street near 11th Street. Orville E. Burris of 929 Sunset Drive was northbound when the episode occurred about 5 12 p m. His car crossed 11th Street, hit a tree, and Burris died at 9 45 p m from shock after the heart attack. The 1964 auto was demolished and he was alone in the car.
