Simple models in American lingerie fashion
Hedda Hout reports divergent American taste in undergarments. Many matrons favor simple, well‑made pieces with modest trimming, while some prefer ornate lace and pleated designs. Belts are often just a front tie, with fullness for dancing. Bloomers and combinations are less common than chemises ending in bloomers or drawers.
