Lawrence 2017 building permits show hotels and churches lead
City Hall data through August shows $96.5 million in permits, well below 2015 and 2016 peaks but still among the higher totals since 2009. The largest project is a $4 million Tru by Hilton near Sixth and Wakarusa, followed by a $3.9 million Country Inn & Suites at 2176 E. 23rd St. Connect Church at 31st and Iowa and an addition at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church are the next big items.
