Mustang stolen from Louisiana Street residence worth $20000

A 30 year old man reported his 1965 Mustang stolen from his home in the 900 block of Louisiana Street. The theft occurred between 10 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday with a listed value of $20,000. Emergency calls covered fires medicals and other incidents, and animal shelter intake listed two dogs including a long haired chihuahua mix and a black lab. The Journal-World notes it reports only certain crimes and preserves victim anonymity.

KU blood drive aims to collect 1000 pints this week

Kansas University students will donate at Union Ballroom Pearson Hall McCollum Hall Allen Fieldhouse and Oliver Hall across five days. Sponsored by KU Community Blood Center and Douglas County Chapter of the American Red Cross, the drive runs today through Friday with hours 11 am to 5 pm and some locations 12 pm to 7 pm.

Perry Lake Hit By Record Low Water Levels

USGS reports Perry Lake reached an all time low since 1969 with elevations around 886.27 feet as flow into the lake collapsed to about 83 cfs from the usual 326 cfs. Low rainfall and river flow drove the decline, with Milford and Clinton lakes nearby nearing record lows.
